MET/TEAM to CalStudio, without losing your calibration history
Many calibration labs are planning a move from MET/TEAM to Fluke CalStudio. The software change is the easy part. What decides whether an audit goes well afterward is the asset data, recall logic, procedures and certificate history moving with it. Cingilek Precision plans and runs that program work for labs and manufacturers, drawing on the principal's role as Chief Operating Officer of an ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited laboratory that runs MET/TEAM and is moving to CalStudio.
What CalStudio changes
CalStudio is Fluke Calibration's cloud-based calibration management platform. It combines three things in one system.
- A laboratory information management system
- Procedure authoring and execution
- A workflow and integration manager
It runs existing MET/CAL procedures through MET/CONNECT, so a lab can bring its established procedures across instead of rewriting them. Fluke lists CalStudio as available in the United States and Canada, with other regions planned for late 2026.
For a MET/TEAM lab, three things change at once. The system of record moves to the cloud. Procedures and results run through a new workflow layer. Certificates, labels and reports are rebuilt in a new report designer. Each of those touches what an assessor asks to see.
What we do
Asset and history audit before migration
Duplicate assets, orphaned records, inconsistent manufacturer and model naming, missing serial numbers, and certificates attached to the wrong asset. The audit runs on the MET/TEAM data, so the problems get fixed once, before they reach CalStudio.
Recall and interval design
Interval assignment rules, overdue and out-of-tolerance handling, and recall notices that match what customers have been promised.
Procedure inventory and MET/CAL carry-over
Which procedures move as is through MET/CONNECT, which need revision, and which should be retired.
Certificate and label rebuild
Certificate content mapped to ISO/IEC 17025 clause 7.8 reporting requirements, decision-rule statements per ILAC-G8, and accreditation-symbol use per your accreditation body's rules.
Cutover plan and parallel run
A dated plan covering the freeze, migration, validation sampling, parallel operation, and sign-off.
Audit readiness after go-live
Evidence that records and traceability survived the move intact. Sample traceability from certificate back to standard, and software validation records your quality manager can show an assessor.
Who it's for
- Calibration labs, accredited or working toward accreditation, that run MET/TEAM today
- Manufacturers with in-house calibration departments on MET/TEAM or MET/CAL
- Aerospace, defense, medical-device and semiconductor suppliers whose customer audits reach into calibration records
Why Cingilek
Cingilek's principal began his Army career as a TMDE calibration technician. He now serves as Chief Operating Officer of Field Calibrations, Inc., an IAS-accredited ISO/IEC 17025:2017 laboratory (CL-112) in Phoenix that runs MET/TEAM and is integrating CalStudio for Winter 2027. The program work on this page is the work he's doing in his own lab.
Cingilek doesn't sell software or licenses, and doesn't perform accredited calibrations. Calibration work is referred to Field Calibrations, Inc.
Common questions
Is MET/TEAM being discontinued?
Fluke hasn't published an end date for MET/TEAM on its CalStudio product page. Labs are moving for CalStudio's cloud access, procedure workflow and reporting. Check with Fluke for current support terms on your MET/TEAM version.
Can we keep our MET/CAL procedures?
CalStudio runs MET/CAL procedures through MET/CONNECT, and Fluke states that existing procedures can be imported. Part of the program work is deciding which procedures should move as is and which should be revised first.
Do we need to clean up MET/TEAM data before migrating?
Yes. Duplicate or inconsistent asset records carry straight into the new system, and they're harder to fix once customers can see them through a portal.
Will migration affect our accreditation?
A change of laboratory information management system is a change your quality system must control. Expect software validation records, a documented cutover and evidence that records stayed intact. Your accreditation body may also expect notification.
Can you run the migration for us?
We plan it, define the data rules, manage the cutover and build the validation evidence. Fluke or its partners provide CalStudio configuration and licensing.
